Hybrid
The Greenhouse
Facilitated by Elia Khalaf and Deanna Barton
The Greenhouse is a Safe Communities Initiative cultivating budding Miami Creatives (ages 18-24 years) in a trauma-informed, therapeutic, vocational development program. The Greenhouse nurtures professional development, creative self-exploration, and mind-body wellness during a 10-week growing season where sprouting projects yield from seeds planted in the warmth and protection of the community greenhouse.
The Greenhouse supports Miami’s young adults by offering creative experiential, community-oriented learning, mentorship, and supported self-study. During the program, Creatives engage in introspective experiences, collaborative projects, and skill-building to cultivate their creative potential for future careers in arts and healthcare.
The 10-week growing season is a summer program designed in collaboration with a committee of certified art therapists, licensed counselors, and various arts-based, educational, and integrative professionals referred to as Greenhouse Keepers.
