The Betsy Hotel, Miami Beach

Three of Britain's best young poets, together in Miami for the first time:

Sam Riviere, Sophie Collins, and Jack Underwood with Miami's own Cherry Pickman

Sam Riviere studied at the Norwich School of Art and Design, and holds a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from UEA. He is the author 81 Austerities (Faber & Faber, 2012), which won the Forward Prize for Best First Collection, and Standard Twin Fantasy (f.u.n.e.x., 2014), a pamphlet of poems. He was a recipient of a 2009 Eric Gregory Award.

Sophie Collins grew up in Bergen, North Holland, and now lives in Edinburgh. She is co-editor of tender, an online journal promoting work by female-identified writers and artists. Her poems have appeared in magazines, anthologies, newspapers and art books. She received an Eric Gregory Award in 2014. Her first collection will be published by Penguin in 2017.

Jack Underwood’s debut collection, Happiness, was published by Faber & Faber in 2015. He lives in South East London.

Cherry Pickman is the author of Theory of Tides, winner of the Poetry Society of America’s Chapbook Fellowship. Her work has appeared in, or is forthcoming from 32 Poems, American Poetry Review, Bennington Review, and Indiana review, among others. A selection of her poems was included in Eight Miami Poets, a 2015 anthology published by Jai-Alai Books.
