Gold Coast Railroad Museum
12450 SW 152nd St, Miami, FL 33177

O, Miami is partnering with the Gold Coast Railroad Museum for a Sunset Party kicking off the launch of the 2027 Festival Open Call and the unveiling of two Civic Publishing projects from the 2026 O, Miami Poetry Festival!
Track It: Times & Lines
Made in collaboration with 2026 O, Miami project manager Nicole Espillat, “Track It: Times & Lines” showcases poetry by South Floridians on a permanently installed split-flap sign inside the Gold Coast Railroad Museum's model train exhibit room. The project uses traditional, nostalgic rail-station signage as a surprising occasion for poetry.
La Versicleta: Poems When Ice Melts
Artist Julian Pardo joins us for an in-progress demonstration of “La Versicleta: Poems When Ice Melts.” Powered by water from a melting block of ice, "La Versicleta" is a mobile poetry instrument that prints poems from O, Miami’s "Soy de Todas Partes" archive onto concrete and other surfaces, honoring stories of migration and movement.
Plus, Choo-choo-choose your own adventure as you explore poetic activations taking place throughout the museum!:
Lines for Wine - Laura Gill leads you in a poetic wine tasting in the museum’s vintage bar car.
Tattoo Poetry - Tattoo artist Glisabeth Becerra from Easy Peasy will lead an accessible hands-on workshop where participants will learn the basics of tattooing using real tattoo equipment and fresh fruit.
Poetry Robots - Mario Cruz demonstrates how his poetry robots come to life, reciting poems from the O, Miami archive and “writing” their own.
Collage Station - Motyko Morales leads a pop-up collaging workshop.
Lo que tengo son letras/What I have are letters - Play a game of Daniel Luis Martinez’s Poetry Dominos, where dichos (words and phrases used by diasporic communities) take the place of numbers on each tile.
Erasure Poetry Station - Create your own erasure poetry with the O, Miami team from themed found texts.
& more!
The museum will remain open throughout the event, inviting guests to explore their collection of vintage locomotives and model train room.
Plus, in true summer fashion, hot dogs and hamburgers will be available for purchase, alongside complimentary sunset cocktails.
