Poetry at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum (Crossing Bards & Track It: Times & Lines)

2026

Gold Coast Railroad Museum
12450 SW 152nd St, Miami, FL 33177

O, Miami showcases South Florida student poetry at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum with two distinct projects: “Crossing Bards” and “Track It: Times & Lines”

Crossing Bards
Created for the 2026 O, Miami Poetry Festival, Crossing Bards reimagines street signs as a medium for poetry. Rather than the regulatory, warning, or directional messages one expects, signs featuring student poetry are scattered throughout the Gold Coast Railroad Museum grounds, providing moments for pause, reflection and joy.

Explore the museum and encounter 14 signs featuring student poems!

Track It: Times & Lines
Click, click, click… poetry incoming! Made in collaboration with project manager Nicole Espillat for the 2026 O, Miami Poetry Festival, “Track It: Times & Lines” showcases Miami-Dade County student and resident poems, sourced from O, Miami’s Sunroom poetry-in-schools program and from patrons of the Gold Coast Railroad Museum. This split-flap sign uses traditional, nostalgic rail-station signage as a surprising occasion for poetry.
