The Privilege to Learn

Presented in partnership with En el semáforo se Aprende in Querétaro, Mexico and the Mexican American Council in South Dade

This cultural exchange brings students together through art and writing. Both organizations, one in Mexico and one in Miami-Dade, share a mission and a passion for providing access to quality education to all children. Students from both countries are paired for a monthly exchange of letters and poetry, with bilingual writing prompts aimed at expanding writing skills and empathy. Under the direction of music "Mariachi Los Mora Arriaga," the Homestead-Miami Mariachi Conservatory creates an original song from the student poetry generated in the lessons.
