A live online reading of the Heroic Sonnet Crown written by 14 local poet-pairs celebrating the resilience of Miami-Dade County.

“We Who Rise from Saltwater, Let’s Sing” is the first (that we know of!) collaborative Heroic Sonnet Crown written in celebration of Miami-Dade County. Conceived and edited by poets Maureen Seaton and Nicole Tallman, this Crown was written by 14 local poet-pairs over the summer of 2021 and presented to Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava via a private reading in October. The Crown celebrates the resilience of Miami-Dade County through the sonnets of established and emerging poets alike.
