In Miami, we don’t just say, “I love you.” We say, “Did you eat yet?”
O, Miami and Dunn’s Overtown Farm invite you to grab a meal and a seat at Family Meal, a community-based poetry reading and dinner experience featuring Gabrielle Calvocoressi and this year’s Poetry Foundation Fellows, Miami Freedom Project, and potluck-style meal contributions from local chefs.

Gabrielle Calvocoressi’s new collection of poetry, The New Economy, was a finalist for the 2025 National Book Award in Poetry. Other collections include The Last Time I Saw Amelia Earhart, Apocalyptic Swing, and Rocket Fantastic, which is the winner of the Audre Lorde Award for Lesbian Poetry. They serve on the Board of Chancellors of the Academy of American Poets and live in Old East Durham, NC, where joy, compassion, and social justice are at the center of their personal and poetic practice. About the Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowships
The Poetry Foundation awards five Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowships annually. Among the largest awards offered to young poets in the US, the $27,000 prize is intended to support exceptional US poets between 21 and 31 years of age. The fellowships were established in 1989 by the Indianapolis philanthropist Ruth Lilly and expanded in 2013 with a gift from the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Memorial Fund. Learn more here.
Miami Freedom Project works toward a more just and equitable Miami through outreach, education and movement building at the intersection of political, cultural, and spiritual life.
