Expressions, Inc is a pop-up temporary tattoo station that highlights poems about Miami and asks participants to express themselves and reflect on their experiences. People of all ages can engage by either selecting a custom printed temporary tattoo that features a poem written by a local or creating their own tattoos by using temp ink markers and tattoos with fill-in-the-blank phrases: “Joy is…”, “My city is…”, or “We are…”
Kayla Walker is a visual artist who depicts those around her through vibrant portraiture that evokes cultural pride and a conscious understanding of the impact of art on everyday life. She strives to de-radicalize Black joy by normalizing access to art and community events.
