DONT GO is a poem and a crossing sign placed unexpectedly along a path where no signal is needed. Speaking to pedestrians in truncated phrases, the poem relies on the audience for interpretation of its various instructions, such as “LOOK OUT,” “WALK AWAY,” and “SUN SETS.” The featured phrases on the sign were generated in O, Miami’s education program and written by students at Coconut Grove Elementary, Emerson Elementary School, Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center, Holmes Elementary School, Miami Norland Senior High School, Morningside K-8 Academy, Orchard Villa Elementary School, and Poinciana Park Elementary School, The SEED School of Miami, and Theodore R. and Thelma A. Gibson Charter School.
