Professional poets write in response to student poets

Jai-Alai Magazine is a Miami-focused literary journal that debuted in 2011 with issue #10 and has been counting down to its own extinction ever since.

Issue #1, edited by Caroline Cabrera, features 31 poems by adult poets from around the Americas. Each of those poems was inspired by a poem written by a Miami elementary school student via O, Miami’s education program. The 31 student poets represent the following schools: Emerson Elementary, Orchard Villa Elementary, Poinciana Park Elementary, Morningside Elementary, Holmes Elementary, and Coconut Grove Elementary.
