W.S. Merwin, sitting Poet Laureate of the United States at the time, gave the culminating reading at the 2011 O, Miami Poetry Festival. Merwin was introduced by poet Tom Healy.
In the photos, you'll see pictures of Merwin with poet Raúl Zurita, who read earlier in the day. It was the first time the two poets had met in person.
Merwin is also seen at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, which he visited the morning of his reading.
The last three photos are the transcript of an interview O, Miami did with Merwin before his arrival that has never been published.
