The Holy Office of Poetic Memory is a workshop for caregivers and loved ones of individuals with dementia and terminal illnesses.

Participants will engage in the traditional Japanese art of Ikebana, arranging flowers while reflecting on the themes of Heavens, Self, and Earth. Afterward, they will write sunset poems, following the same structure of reflection: Heavens, Self, and Earth.

Each participant will create a poem inspired by their experiences and memories.

Seats are limited due to the nature of Ikebana. Participants will leave with their own flower arrangement and a poem dedicated to their loved one.

Xochitl C. Galvez is an artist from Miami, Florida. Her art practice centers around her sketchbook, capturing experimental concepts. Recently, she has expanded into curatorial work, developing a nuanced approach to art curation with a focus on community-based projects.
