Poetry in Pajamas at Pinecrest Gardens

Put on your favorite PJs and join O, Miami for our beloved kids’ open mic night, Poetry in Pajamas!

Kids are invited to step up to the mic and share their favorite poem (original or published) before an audience of pajama-clad peers on Miami’s coziest stage, designed by The Interknit.

Enjoy interactive activations and sensory-friendly play stations, shop for goodies at the by-kids-for-kids crafts and snacks market, and dance to a live performance by Miami’s beloved electro-pop duo, Afrobeta.

Poetry in Pajamas was started by South Florida artist Sara Kaplan after her sons Sam and Simon started reciting poetry in their pajamas from the bottom bunk of their bunk bed. Enamored, Sara began receiving poems from other kids and sharing the readings online. The rest is magic!

Poetry in Pajamas believes in empowering kids' voices and ideas through writing, reading, and understanding poetry.
