Plastic Poetry

Presented in partnership with Free Plastic, Inc

“Free Plastic” is a project that upcycles plastic pollution and post-consumer community plastics into 5-inch tall letters to create plastic poems to be installed on the facades of selected buildings in Miami-Dade County. The plastics used to create the letters are sourced via community cleanups on coastlines throughout South Florida or from community partners like shops and restaurants. Community activities will include neighborhood cleanups, live recycling of plastics, and a brief lecture on plastics and our current recycling crisis.
