Offerings III is a site-specific performance piece that investigates the harsh intersections of aggression towards people of color, gun violence, and a woman’s work. Exploring through the African Diaspora lens, we engage in rituals, movement, song, art and spirit as a means to heal the mind, body, and soul, specifically dealing with rituals (i.e. movement, altar building, smudging-using sage as a cleansing agent...) of purity/protection/commemoration.

Offerings III takes place on the basketball courts which have been the setting unfortunately not for just recreational activities but also violence. By declaring and reclaiming the location where tragedies took place as sacred spaces, we attempt to organize change towards a livable future.

Offerings III is presented by Bas Fisher Invitational, in collaboration with O, Miami Poetry Festival.
