Summer Poetry Teachers Institute

Eligible teachers and educators apply here before May 2023.

Along with the Poetry Foundation, O, Miami will once again host the Miami Summer Poetry Teachers Institute on July 10-14th, 2023 at the University of Miami. The event includes seminars and workshops with some of today’s most compelling poets. Participants will study and discuss poetry with renowned poetry practitioners and expert teachers to develop lesson plans to bring back to their classrooms. The Institute offers participants a fresh, energizing approach to reading poems, invaluable materials for teaching, and new ways to invigorate their instructional habits and practices.

• We’re inviting all teachers nationwide across K-12 grade levels and community college instructors to apply here.
• Notifications to selected educators will be sent in May 2023.
  

The Institute seeks a range of participants: new and experienced teachers, those who enjoy teaching poetry, and those who have shied away from it.
