Melanie Almeder Workshop

"TALK: The Poet as Bricoleur in the Era of Trash and Graphomania" was a writing workshop created and led by poet Melanie Almeder for the 2013 O, Miami Poetry Festival.

The Free School for Writing, created by Denise Delgado, proposed and co-presented the workshop, which focused on exploring the "found poem" and the possibilities it has created for poets. Participants looked at models of found poems to consider the decontextualization of language, the foreclosure of irony, and, finally, what it means to be a poet/bricoleur in this era.

The workshop was hosted and sponsored by The Betsy Hotel.
