For "Helicopter Poem Drop" artist Jonathan Lizcano printed hundreds of poems onto biodegradable paper and folded them into aerodynamic shapes.
On April 11, 2011, he did a practice run in Coral Gables and dropped the poems into an open field where passersby picked them up and took them home.
Then on April 16th, at Sweatsock, a concert produced by Sweat Records music store, a helicopter dropped the poems onto the crowd. The wind picked up right when the poems were dropped though and most of them ended up in the street and in people's backyards in Little Haiti.
