Date Night with Gertrude Stein

Poetic Consumption: A Date Night with Gertrude Stein marries poetry, food, and community, using the legendary American writer Gertrude Stein as inspiration. Stein’s seminal book of lyrical prose, Tender Buttons, serves as the framework for a three-course poetic meal crafted by Chef Evan Hanczor, from Brooklyn, NY’s Egg.

Hanczor’s meal, crafted in accordance with the diction, syntax, and rhythm of the text’s “Food” section, relies on items listed throughout the work for its cornerstone ingredients. Little Haiti’s Little Farm House provides the backdrop to a beautifully eccentric evening of word and food.
