How do we use tarot—as mirrors, as party favors, as strange little pieces of stylistic and literary wonder—to create meaning?
What we know as a game of tricks and fortune-telling is also a form of reflection and connection. Do you read tarot with your friends, exchange decks, plan group calls on equinox or solstice? Do you seek solace in cups, wands, or the blazing lantern of the Hermit?
Reading tarot may shine a light on your destiny, but creating tarot will reveal meaning all around you.
In this poetry & visual art workshop, we invite you to create tarot through image and verse. We will read for inspiration, discuss form and function, write poetry, and illustrate a tarot card inspired by our poems. This workshop is a collective expression of us and South Florida, our tropical waystation.
This workshop is open to adults of all writing and visual art levels.
Facilitated by writer and visual artist, Dana Raja Wahab.
